III Evaluation Topics


EVALUATION GUIDE, III QUARTER

MATH
  • ·         Your son should be able to ADD decimals… ex: 2.43 + 0.545 =
  • ·         Your son should be able to SUBTRACT decimals… ex: 1 - .03 =
  • ·         Your son should be able to MULTIPLY multi-digit decimals… ex: 54.89 X 4.5 =
  • ·         ADD and SUBTRACT negative and positive integers using the number line… ex:  -3 + 10=                or -6 – 7 =  as well as -6 + (-45) = and 78 – (-103) =
  • ·         Use the power of 10 to multiply and divide…ex: 2 X 100 =   or 0.8 ÷ 1000 =
  • ·         Identify place value up to the whole thousands and decimal place value up to thousandths…ex: thousands, hundreds   tens   ones  (.)  tenths  hundredths  thousandths
  • ·         Solve equations  with a variable by using the opposite operations and deciding what to do in the case of division and subtraction…ex: 25 + h = 100, z * 3 = 24, 112- b = 12, 56/k = 7
  • ·         Using the metric system to convert from one measurement to another by multiplying or dividing using the power of 10 (a chart will be provided …ex: 3m =  ___mm    or    35 cm =___Km
  •  Covert feet to inches, inches to feet, inches to cm by either multiplying or dividing
ENGLISH
  • ·         Students will need their Geronimo Stilton for the exam
  • ·         Identify past tense verbs and make corrections to regular and irregular verbs.
  • ·         Be able to write a complete  paragraph to summarize the story  from pages 23-41 (sequenced paragraph)
  • ·         Create a short story about Geronimo that includes a problem, a solution, describe the setting and use vocabulary learned this quarter
  • ·         Find and draw about the main events from pages 23-41
  • ·         Identify the main idea(s) from the story Pages: 1-22
  • ·         Write a letter to Silverpaw’s ghost pretending to be Geronimo
  •      Go back a double their work using a different color to make careful personal corrections
 SCIENCE 
  •      ·         Be able to explain in detail how one freshwater ecosystem interacts with  another ecosystem
  • ·         Answering questions in a paragraph with details, write about wetlands in detail and discuss the experiments we did in the lab with clear conclusions and possible future solutions
  • ·         Compare characteristics of water lilies and cacti
  • ·         Design the perfect plant that is resistant to drought, floods, and erosion
  •          Write about the best and worst study habit used this quarter in science.

        Los temas que deben estudiar para la bimestral son las civilizaciones que hemos venido trabajando Egipto, Roma y Grecia antigua y actual con los aspectos de economía, política (guerras), religión, avances tecnológicos, sociedad y aspectos geográficos en este aspecto es importante tener en cuenta como era antes y ahora la ubicación con quien limita y su relieve.

Se evaluará la organización de información en tablas, la observación de características, la identificación de categorías, el planteamiento de trabajos plásticos, la planeación en la ejecución de trabajos, la correcta utilización de elementos técnicos en la creación artística, la transferencia de conceptos, ideas y técnicas a trabajos propios y la capacidad de revisar e identificar fallas en el proceso del bimestre.
